Medimix International Social Media Director to Present at EyeforPharma e-Marketing Europe Summit, Berlin- March 3-4th, 2010
 
Miami, FL (February 28, 2010) Medimix International CEO, Henry Gazay, announced today that  Alex de Carvalho, Medimix Social Media Director, has been selected to speak at the EyeforPharma e-Marketing Europe 2010 Summit, Berlin (March 3-4), and will present “An Eye for Social Media: From Lab throughout the Lifecycle.”   The two day conference is expected to draw key decision-makers from the pharmaceutical industry to discuss how social media strategies can help them respond to the challenges of transforming their business culture from product-focused to customer-centered.

 
Alex de Carvalho, an adjunct professor of social media at the University of Miami School of Communications, is an acknowledged expert on social media related projects and builds social networks from business planning to launch. In his role at Medimix, Alex has developed and manages Scanbuzz, the first online tracking service for reputation management, blogger relations, and brand monitoring in the life sciences.
 
The conference theme, “Engage Physicians and Consumers with Innovative e-marketing and Social Media Strategies,” highlights the ever-increasing role that social media plays in marketing and public relation strategies.   However, pharmaceutical companies as a whole have lagged far behind other industries in developing a social media presence and creating a dialogue with their customers.
 
Alex’s presentation will focus on the five main steps marketing executives should consider when developing a social media strategy in the pharmaceutical sector. It will provide strategic advice and practical tips, from listening of the online the buzz to going through legal implications of social media, and offer actionable takeaways for immediate implementation by pharma marketers.
